Outhouse
Hidden in the woods, not far from the house, is the old outhouse. For eight years it served us consistently. Nobody ever had to plunge it - not once. Talk about a low volume flush. We were going to tear it down when we built the new house with all the modern accommodations but there is just something about it that reminds us all of good but tougher times. We still keep a bottle of hand sanitizer and a supply of toilet paper in it for the occasional visitor. When we have large gatherings, the outhouse is used as much or more than the bathroom. We don't worry about storing water for flushing, under adversity we'll just go back to the 'old fashioned' way.
